Fed: Beazley favourtie for ALP leadership
A new poll published today has found that almost four times as many voters want KIMBEAZLEY to regain the federal ALP leadership over SIMON CREAN.
The Newspoll, published in the Australian, shows that after 18 months as OppositionLeader only one in 10 Australians want Mr CREAN to spearhead Labor's next election campaign.
That compares to Mr BEAZLEY'S 36 per cent support.
Even worse for Mr CREAN is that only 13 per cent of Labor voters want him as leader,compared to the 43 per cent who would prefer Mr BEAZLEY.
Labor's primary vote has dropped 33 per cent and the Coalition has opened up a 55per cent to 45 per cent lead on a two-party preferred basis.
Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD has opened up a record 62 per cent to 16 per cent lead overMr CREAN as preferred prime minister.
