VIC:Ticket inspectors 'used excessive force'

A Victorian Ombudsman's report says public transport ticket inspectors have repeatedly
used excessive force against passengers in the course of their duties.

The report by Ombudsman GEORGE BROUWER has been tabled in the Victorian parliament
and follows close to 200 complaints to his office between 2008 and 2009 about public transport
infringements notices.

Mr BROUWER says his office has received CCTV footage that shows instances .. where
authorised officers behaved inappropriately towards passengers or used excessive force
against them.
