PHS Health Plans Names Daniel Sauer as Regional Vice President of Sales & New Business.

Daniel Sauer has been named to the newly created position of regional vice president of Sales & New Business for PHS Health Plans, one of the largest health plans in the greater New York region.

Sauer will be responsible for expanding and managing commercial employer business in each market segment except small employers for the Company's operations in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Sauer joins PHS Health Plans from ChannelPoint, Inc., where he has been serving in a national sales and management role. Based in New York City, he has been managing national sales activity and focusing on e-commerce solutions, working with insurers, brokers, consultants and agents. He previously was sales director for Prudential HealthCare in New York, where he rose through the sales organization, beginning as an account executive in 1994. Prior to that, he was with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of New Jersey, and with Hewitt Associates. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Hamilton College.
